We are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Kitchen Fitter to join a Property Maintenance Team for the local council in Bournemouth, Dorset.
You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and refurbishment of kitchens in council-owned housing stock and public buildings. Your work will ensure safe, functional, and modern kitchen facilities for our tenants and service users.
Salary:
£37, 873 per annum - £8.68 per hour
Hours:
8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (Friday finishes at 3.30pm)
39 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Install full kitchen units including base/wall cupboards, worktops, sinks, and appliances. li>Carry out associated works including plumbing, tiling, basic electrical fittings (as permitted), and carpentry.
- Remove old kitchen units and dispose of waste in line with environmental policies.
- Work to precise measurements and follow detailed plans and layout specifications.
- Ensure all installations meet BCP Council standards and comply with building regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, other tradespeople, and council representatives.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and report issues or delays.
- Provide quality customer service and ensure minimal disruption to residents during work.
Duties and Requirements:
Have a valid and current driving licence as Van is provided.
Proven experience in kitchen fitting or a relevant multi-trade role.
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in carpentry, joinery, or a related field.
Competency in plumbing, tiling, and basic electrical work.
Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
You arehardworking, enthusiastic, and willing to learn, with good people skills.
You are able to work on your own initiative.
Experience of working on Disability Adaptations is essential.
You will work from an I-Pad and all works will be populated from our call centre and scheduled by your planner.
The I-Pads are also used for many other applications, forms and inspection certification along with regular email communication.
All uniform and PPE will be provided.
You don't have any unspent criminal convictions.
