Systematic Trading Technology Project Manager

This role involves managing the onboarding and ongoing technology needs of Systematic Portfolio Managers and their teams, while also providing product and project management support for the Systematic Data organization. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, strong communication skills, and strategic thinking to drive efficient onboarding, foster collaboration, and improve processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Manager Onboarding and Technology Management

  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers (PMs) and teams across the firm to facilitate the efficient onboarding of new trading groups

  • Act as a single point of contact in technology for multiple Portfolio Managers across Infrastructure, Systematic Data, Market-Data, and Execution

  • Consult with users to understand and document business requirements and workflows

  • Maintain traceability of functional specifications to requirements/objectives

  • Track PM technology requests, manage clear target dates for completion, and ensure expectation management through clear communication with PMs, Business Management, and development teams

  • Report PM onboarding progress and/or risks through appropriate management channels, escalating issues as necessary according to the onboarding plan

  • Engage with Portfolio Managers and their teams to ensure new and existing functionality is being appropriately utilized

  • Identify common themes and requests where a central rather than bespoke solution should be built

  • Collaborate with Business Management and development teams to facilitate prioritization of PM technology requests

  • Provide business analysis & project management support for bespoke strategic platform buildouts that benefit multiple PMs

  • Manage regional project delivery of global initiatives to deploy new applications and new functionality to existing applications.

  • Systematic Data Product and Project Management

  • Collaborate closely with the Systematic Data team to provide both product and project management support across the organization

  • Manage the delivery of large, high-impact, and cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational goals, while providing regular updates and reporting to senior stakeholders across the firm.

  • Ensure team members are working on the correct priorities by aligning resources with strategic objectives and collaborating closely with leadership to manage workload and project focus.

  • Track and analyze KPIs to measure team performance and project success

  • Analyze process improvements and project manage them through to completion, ensuring measurable benefits are realized

  • Support the development and execution of initiatives to enhance workflows, tools, and data utilization across the Systematic Data organization.

  • Assist the department head with strategy presentations, including gathering insights, preparing materials, and facilitating discussions

  • Facilitate training sessions and assist with presentations to improve team knowledge and communication

  • Promote and enforce best practices for JIRA usage, ensuring data quality and consistency to support effective project tracking and reporting.

  • Required Skills and Experience

    Professional Experience:

  • Requires 5+ years of related professional project management experience.

  • Requires 3+ years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably with Equities, Futures, FX, Options and electronic trading.

  • Technical and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

  • Ability to understand business workflows (across products/regions) and technology components (including datasets, infrastructure, quantitative tools, and execution platforms) at a deep enough level to identify and solve problems

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of key data principles.

  • Project and Product Management Expertise:

  • Experience specifying and writing user specifications and business requirements for development teams.

  • Familiarity with development methodologies, including waterfall and agile, as well as expertise with tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Tableau

    Kickstart your career within our Project Management Graduate Programme and take part in one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes in the UK water sector.

    The Reservoirs Programme is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, delivering two major raw water reservoirs - Fens and Lincs Reservoirs - along with their associated infrastructure. These projects are critical to securing sustainable water supplies for generations across the East of England and East Midlands. As part of this nationally significant infrastructure project, you'll help shape critical infrastructure and contribute to the strategy for the construction of the Reservoirs.

    As a Graduate Project Manager, you'll be embedded within our Programme Management Team  from day one, working alongside expert partners and gaining hands-on experience in:

    Planning and stakeholder engagement

    Risk management and project delivery

    Development Consent Order (DCO) process
